Adams, Patti

Patti Adams was born in California, raised in south Florida and has lived and worked in New Orleans since 1982. She studied with Auseklis Ozols, Katalin Gergo and Martha Guthrie at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts where she currently teaches classes in Color & Design, Calligraphy, Gilding and Watercolor. She is a signature member of the Louisiana Watercolor Society and the New Orleans Lettering Arts Association and was the owner/art director of the Garden District Gallery from 2009-2015. Patti has studied calligraphy with John Stevens, Denis Brown and Georgia Angelopoulos and maintains an active design studio, producing commissions for numerous organizations, including the American Harp Society, Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, the Pickwick Club, Galatoire’s Restaurant, the Krewes of Rex, Comus, Proteus and Mithras, the LPO, and New Orleans Opera. In 2010, she created the scenic artwork used in the opera’s production of The Magic Flute, her favorite opera and instrument! In her parallel musical life, Patti is a professional flutist with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and teaches at Loyola University’s College of Music.
