In 1980 we opened the doors to The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts at our present campus on Magazine Street. A non-profit was formed so that the Academy could serve our community. Auseklis Ozols was the Founding Director and Dorothy Coleman the Patron. Thousands of students have attended NOAFA through the years and many have become successful professional artists.
Over the past year and a half at the Academy, we have found a new Executive Director and a renewed vision and purpose. We have added new programs in ceramics and youth arts which has included creating beautiful new spaces and the addition of talented faculty. We have also expanded our Academy Gallery exhibitions and programming to connect our school more with the larger New Orleans Arts Community.
We are more than a school here at the Academy, we are a community of artists, people from all walks of life that come together to learn and to create. Our doors are open to all.
Please help us sustain and grow the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. Whatever amount you feel comfortable giving will be greatly appreciated.
