Description:  First time clay learners will be introduced to all things ceramics and puppetry. In Clay & Puppetry for Littles kids get to explore their creativity by molding and shaping clay into puppets. They'll learn basic techniques like rolling, pinching, and shaping clay to form their characters. These little sculptors will then paint and decorate their puppets, adding personality and flair. Through this hands-on experience, children develop fine motor skills, imagination, and an appreciation for art while having a lot of fun!

The class will begin with each child envisioning their puppet's appearance and characteristics. They then use their hands and tools to shape the clay accordingly, bringing their imagination to life. Once the sculptures have been sculpted and fired the students will be able to paint their creations. Using a vibrant array of paints, they add color, texture, and personality to their puppets, transforming them into lively characters with their own stories to tell.

Please have your child bring their own water bottle. Art clothes and snacks are welcome.

Supplies: All art supplies will be provided.

Parents, please note your child's name and age in the order comment section when you pay for the class. Please also complete this form: https://form.jotform.com/NOAFA/noafa-youth-emergency-form

*Youth classes have been designed by age to be as pedagogically appropriate as possible, but the Academy recognizes that there are special situations where students are advanced for their age.
