Students will be introduced to the principles of watercolor painting techniques including layering, washes, and masking. In this class, we will explore color mixing as well as the basics of light and shadow through watercolor. Simple tips and tricks of watercolor principles will be demonstrated in the first half hour of class, allowing a full hour and a half for students to explore the medium.
Every other week, we will begin a new painting, creating 4 paintings in total for students to sign and take home.
No previous experience with watercolor is necessary.
Supplies: All supplies needed for this course will be available when students arrive for their first class.

*Youth classes have been designed by age to be as pedagogically appropriate as possible, but the Academy recognizes that there are special situations where students are advanced for their age.
