Instructor: Kim Bernadas / 13 Weeks / Jan 11 - May 3 (no class Feb 15 & 22 and Apr 5 & 12) / Wednesday / 1:00PM-4:00PM
Class Size: 5-7
This course offers students of all levels the opportunity to explore the process of creating a work of art in sculpture, and progress through the process with a bronze casting as the finished product. The class will work with a live model for 4 weeks, to create a refined miniature sculpture, learn the mold making process, and casting of a wax or (plaster) copy. The mold will then be ready to send to a foundry for bronze casting. All students will be provided a plaster casting of their finished sculpture by the end of class. Student will then have the option to send their mold to a foundry to be cast in bronze*. Student will obtain a functional mold that can be used for many future castings in multiple mediums for repeated castings in wax, plaster, epoxy, and their material of choice.
Prerequisists: Some sculpture experience preferred but not necessary.
