Class Size: 5-7
During this class that is open to beginners and more advanced students alike, you will be able to craft your own curriculum. If you are a beginner in oil, you will be given more structured guidance through an exploration of color, medium and application in the traditional Grisaille method. As an intermediate and advanced student, you will be able to explore many different content areas looking at narrative still life, portraiture, master copies and more! Come escape the stresses of life and explore the fun of oil painting!
This class takes place both in our interior 2nd-floor painting studio with ample artificial lighting and in the porch studio with north-facing large picture windows. Each student will be assigned a space for the entire semester.
Prerequisites: None

Supplies for Beginner Level Student:

- palette knife
- 11 x 14 canvas
- linseed oil
- turpenoid
- 2 glass jars
Oil paints:
- ultramarine blue
- raw umber
- alizarin crimson
- lemon yellow
- yellow ochre
- burnt sienna
- titanium white
- Optional - cadmium red medium
- In addition to the above, please bring paper towels/rags and an apron/smock/old shirt
Supplies for Intermediate Level Students: Please bring your regular oil painting supplies and the instructor will fine tune these with you when you come for your first class.
