Class Size: 5-10

Description:  In this 6 week course students will focus on two crucial aspects of
composing imagery in mosaics through the medium of glass and beads.
Inspired by Liza Lous monumental installation “Kitchen” we will approach
the craft as a way of painting with glass to create tactile and glistening art
pieces. We will create unique artworks through demos, learning, and
actively piecing together various compatible glasses with a wide range of
techniques most popularized through art history in Mesopotamia, Rome,
and South Africa. Artists will learn how to sketch a design, prepare the
surface, select and cut-glass pieces for their independent projects. The
class will have 2 mini projects of each mosaic and beadwork, and one
larger studio-driven focus of the preferred method of their choice.

Prerequisists: none

Supplies:  Tuition includes a $50 fee to provide all supplies needed.
