Description: For this course we will be focusing on methods of handbuilding techniques to create unique clay sculptures derived from your kids' whimsical imaginations!
Through all projects, we will pay attention to color, line, form, mass, volume, pattern, rhythm, texture, and other elements and principles that form a basis for the development and understanding of clay and ceramics for first time learners.
Participants will be encouraged to create a work of art each class. These pieces will be painted with underglaze colors by your child and glazed by the instructor after class.
Please note ceramics require two firings in our kilns and final work will be retrieved a week after our final class.
Please have your child bring their own water bottle. Art clothes are encouraged & snacks are welcome.
Supplies: All art supplies will be provided.

*Youth classes have been designed by age to be as pedagogically appropriate as possible, but the Academy recognizes that there are special situations where students are advanced for their age. Please inquire with the front office if you would like your child to be placed into a class that is not within their age range. Thank you
