Description: In this class, we will focus on building drawing and painting technical skills. We will start by learning about the 7 elements of art: line, shape, form, space, value, color, and texture. Our first weeks will focus on drawing exclusively before we spend the next weeks on introducing painting with watercolors, gouache, and acrylic. This class is focused on helping students understand the foundations of art, so that they may build on these skills throughout the years to come
Supplies: All supplies needed for this course will be available when students arrive for their first class.

*Youth classes have been designed by age to be as pedagogically appropriate as possible, but the Academy recognizes that there are special situations where students are advanced for their age.
