Figure Sculpture offers the student of all levels the opportunity to study the dynamic human form in proportion and expression inspired by the style of the sculptor Zuniga. His style is a fusion of simplified rounded shapes created with the direct influence of his culture in southeast Mexico. Students will choose the pose of their liking from a collection of photos, and a small model. Detailed measurements will be provided by the instructor. The class will discuss his style as it relates to proportion and gesture, anatomical symmetry as well as exploring the details of composition within the pose. Initially, a few short poses will be sculpted to stimulate the importance of gesture and form, and finally, one longer definitive pose will offer an opportunity to develop the sculpture to a more refined completion.
