Description: Our 6-week, Exploring Relief Sculpture ceramics class is designed for students of all skill levels and for 2D students that have interest in clay sculpture. During this class students will experiment with test tiles on creating relief images on clay. Each student will develop a multiple tile mural project of their own design and implement different relief techniques learned throughout the class. Demonstrations will be given at the beginning of each class and will focus on learning methods for creating tiles, transferring 2d designs, experimenting with low, medium, high relief, additive and subtractive sculptural methods as well as surface decoration techniques. After demonstrations students will practice that day’s lesson while Reid offers one-on-one feedback and instruction to each student. Come explore and learn as Reid shares his passion and knowledge for the ceramic arts and guides students through the art of creating reliefs. This class can be taken more than once and all are welcome to join the fun and get their hands dirty!
Supplies: Tuition includes a $75 fee for materials, i.e., clay, tools, and glazes
