Description: In this course, we’ll cover many foundational principles and techniques to gain a firm grounding in the art of Drawing. Students will study master works and do a series of different exercises aimed at understanding gesture, structure, basic forms, and simplification. We will learn comparative measurement, plumb lines, block-ins, terminator lines and maybe even get into form turning a.k.a. rendering. The juicy fun stuff. There will be class discussions, demos, and personalized critiques.

Supplies:
- 18” x 24” Strathmore 500 Series Sketchpad
- 6B, 2B, B & 2H Graphite Pencils (Any Brand)
- Kneaded Eraser
- Measuring Stick (shish kebab skewer is fine)
- X-Acto Knife for sharpening

- 220 Grit Piece of Sandpaper
- Plumb Line (Appx 3’ String with weight attached to one end)
- 18" x 24" Drawing Board (or similar rigid support) (Classrooms have boards to use during class)
