Description:  In this 6-week course students will focus on composing imagery through the historically significant practice of glass fusing and stained glass. Through learning about the use of glasswork in Ancient Rome and Egypt all the way to architecturally significant monastic windows, we will create one-of-a-kind pieces that are technically and conceptually weighted. Artists will learn how to sketch a design, prepare the surface, select and cut-glass pieces for their independent projects. The class will have 2 mini projects of each glass fusing and stained glass, and one larger studio-driven focus of the preferred glass method of choice.
