Description: This class will meet at local museums such as the New Orleans Museum of Art and Sculpture Garden and/or The Ogden Museum of Fine Art, where we will copy the masterworks in the museum’s collection. No greater benefit can be gained for the student wanting to further their skills than to copy the works of the masters. The student, under the guidance of the instructor, will identify a desired work, and be required to do supplemental research into the artist’s methods, i.e., color palette, supports, history etc., to gain a deeper understanding of the artists’ methodology. N.B.: ONLY dry media will be allowed. Beginning drawing experience required.
Prerequisites: Completion of beginning drawing is mandatory.
