Intro to Printmaking is a 12-week course that explores the foundations of printmaking. Students will be introduced to a broad range of basic techniques of printmaking that explore visual communication, creative problem solving and conceptual thinking. Experience gained will be relevant in intaglio, relief and lithography as well as all other forms or printmaking.
Prerequisists: None
Supplies:
- Sketchbook
- Pencil, paper, sharpies
- Erasers
- Carving tools for relief
- Painters tape
- Mylar/Duralar
- Apron
- Gloves (nitrile and/or chemical resistant)
- etching needle, scraper, and burnisher
- clear acetate, mylar, and/or duralar
AS NEEDED SUPPLIES
- Copper plates (18 or 20 gauge)
- Printing Paper (I prefer Rives BFK but there are various choices)
- Newsprint
- Contact Paper
- Oil based markers
- Linoleum
- Tracing Paper
