Description: Learn the basics of classical figure drawing from the live model. In this course, we will cover a multitude of topics such as, comparative measurement, rendering and how to create block-ins, which are the foundation of all representational drawings. There will be demos, Q&A sessions as well as in-depth personalized critiques of student work. We will start with short poses and work our way up to a single long pose session to create a fully developed figure drawing.

- 18” x 24” Strathmore 500 Series Pad
- 6B, 2B, B & 2H Graphite Pencils (Any Brand)
- 6B, 2B, B & 2H Charcoal Pencils (Generals is fine. Nitram is Preferred. If getting Nitram get the Blue, Orange and Green packs.)
- Kneaded Eraser
- 220 Grit Piece of Sandpaper
- Measuring Stick (shish kebab skewer is fine)
- Plumb Line (Apprx 3’ String with weight attached to one end)
- 18” x 24” Newsprint Sketchbook
- X-Acto Knife for sharpening
- Drawing Board (or similar rigid support)
