Note: Class field trip to Metairie Cemetery Oct 13 - meet there at 9 A.M.
Please bring an SLR or Mirrorless camera and your lenses and flash to class.
If you do not have a camera, we will discuss what you may want to purchase.
A 10-week course which encompasses basic camera controls and techniques with an emphasis on composition and effective post processing techniques.
The first 4 classes are for basic students and covers learning the camera, aperture (aka - the ƒ-stops) and shutter speed settings. Modes of operation with an emphasis on using the camera in Manual mode. Beginning use of electronic flash. Basic composition. Students are given individualized instructions regarding their interests and also recommendations for gear/equipment if needed.
Class 5 is a guided trip to Metairie Cemetery where we will shoot together with a variety of lenses and techniques. We will meet there at 9AM.
Classes 5-10 are intermediate classes. The last 5 Classes will consist of more advanced post processing techniques, advanced composition with the study of the works of accomplished photographers from history to modern work. Existing light and advanced flash techniques are presented.
Please bring the camera you have. Advice will be given personally for those who want to purchase their first SLR/Mirrorless camera or to upgrade the equipment they have.
